Inspired by the naturalism of 1960s French Cinema Verite, this end table emphasizes authenticity through its materials and clean architectural lines. The table features surfaces crafted from random planks of sawn 5mm European White Oak veneers, showcasing natural characteristics like knots and season splits. The end grains are intentionally cut thick (10mm) to highlight the wood's organic beauty. This light oak top is contrasted with a central pedestal base made of distressed aluminum finished in an antiqued gun metal. A specialized water-based topcoat, typically used for residential flooring, provides exceptional protection while preserving the wood's natural coloration. The resulting design is a sophisticated piece embodying casual contemporary style.
