Pair of well‑loved Mies MR10 Black Dining Chairs – original chrome/leather. Signs of wear on both seats, small tear on one seat back, laces intact and chrome in excellent condition. These were purchased from Knoll – but are unmarked and unsigned. This set of two vintage Bauhaus Mies van der Rohe MR 10 black leather cantilever side chairs are manufactured by Knoll circa 1980. The MR chair was designed by modernist architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1927 as part of his contribution to the Weissenhof exhibit in Stuttgart, Germany and was awarded the Museum of Modern Art Award in 1977 and the Design Center Stuttgart Award in 1978. These iconic Bauhaus chairs feature clean lines, a simple profile and a lack of ornamentation that epitomizes the International Style.
